The Original is our signature range – the collection that started it all at Alpe Pragas back in 1997, and one that still shows exactly what we stand for today: generous amounts of fruit, minimal sugar, a low glycaemic index, and nothing but natural ingredients, with no colourants or preservatives whatsoever.

The Original is our most versatile collection. It brings together fruit preserves, jams, fruits in syrup, syrups and chutneys, giving you the widest choice of flavours and jar sizes across the whole Alpe Pragas range. Whatever your taste, and whatever the occasion, there's a jar to match.

By its distinctive square jar. This signature shape has accompanied our fruit preserves and fruits in syrup right from the beginning, quietly becoming one of the most recognisable features of our brand.

By definition, a jam may contain no more than 45% fruit, while the term "marmalade" is reserved for products made from citrus fruits. A fruit preserve, on the other hand, contains at least 65% fruit, with considerably less sugar. This means that almost every variety in our The Original collection is, strictly speaking, a fruit preserve rather than a jam.

Our syrups add a fruity twist to refreshing drinks and aperitifs, our fruits in syrup are the perfect match for ice cream and yoghurt, and our chutneys bring something special to savoury dishes too.
